The nozzle of the textile printers is one of the most valuable and essential components of a digital textile printing system. It plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and high-quality printing.
However, many operators encounter situations where the nozzle burns out unexpectedly, leaving them frustrated and unsure of the cause.
This issue is especially common during the installation and replacement process. To prevent this problem and extend the lifespan of the nozzle, follow these essential precautions:
1. Always Power Off Before Installation
Before installing or replacing the nozzle, make sure the textile printers are completely powered off. Operating under a powered-on state can lead to electrical damage, potentially burning out the nozzle.
Once installation is complete, gently push the printhead carriage left and right to check if it moves smoothly.
If there is no unusual resistance and the movement feels controlled, it indicates that the installation is correct. Only after confirming this should the textile printers be powered on.
2. Check for Poor Contact Before Adding Ink
Do not immediately fill the system with ink while the printer is powered on.
First, check whether all electrical contacts are properly connected.
A loose or faulty connection can result in a short circuit, which may cause the nozzle to burn out. Ensuring proper contact before adding ink reduces the risk of damage.
3. Protect the Nozzle Surface
The delicate surface of the nozzle requires careful handling. Avoid any physical impact or collisions, as even minor deformations can affect its performance.
Scratches or dents may lead to printing defects or nozzle malfunctions. When not in use, protective measures such as a dust cover should be applied to maintain its condition.
4. Properly Prepare the Ink System
After ensuring that all connections are secure, ink can be added. Check the ink levels, inspect the suction pump, and verify that the cleaning mechanism is functioning correctly.
Many newly installed nozzles contain residual air, which can affect ink flow.
To prevent printing issues, it is advisable to print a test sample first to expel any trapped air before proceeding with normal production.
By following these precautions, operators can significantly reduce the risk of nozzle burnout, ensuring stable performance and prolonging the lifespan of the printing equipment.
