Direct print digital printing is more suitable for the swimwear industry compared to heat transfer printing, why is this? Here are a few reasons:
1. Wide range of suitable fabrics
Fabrics commonly used for swimwear, such as brocade-ammonia (nylon) and polyester-ammonia fabrics, are not restricted to direct print digital printing technology.
In contrast, heat transfer printing is more demanding on fabrics and only applies to fabrics with a polyester content of 70% or more, which does not apply to most swimwear fabrics.

2. Higher pattern durability
The pattern of direct print digital printing is directly printed on the fabric, and the ink can penetrate well into the fabric fiber inside, making the pattern more durable and not easy to fade or lose color.
While the ink of heat transfer printing is combined with the fabric’s surface under high temperatures, it is easy to be affected by external factors, and the color, especially in a humid environment is more likely to have problems.

3. Vibrant colors and clearer details
Direct print digital printing can achieve richer and more vivid colors and can present finer pattern details, including gradient colors, three-dimensional effects, and so on.
Heat transfer printing, on the other hand, is limited by temperature and pressure during printing, which sometimes results in less vibrant colors and less clear pattern details.

4. Better environmental protection
Direct print digital printing does not require the production of printing plates or the use of a large number of chemical solvents, so it is relatively more environmentally friendly.
Heat transfer printing requires the production of specialized printing plates, and the use of thermal paper and ink contains some chemical components, which may have a certain impact on the environment.
Therefore, for the characteristics and demands of the swimwear industry, direct print digital printing technology is indeed a more appropriate choice.
